  • Building culture around productive technology usage in the classroom
  • Creating and encouraging Student Voice
  • Identify best practices to overcome major barriers of technology adoption
  • Inspiring innovative thought leadership

Technology has become a huge part of the classroom but, unfortunately, it is not always used effectively. Schools, districts, and even countries all seem to be “recreating the wheel” - implementing mobile deployments and making the same mistakes as others. More “cross-pollination” and sharing of best practices is essential for school districts to create a learning initiative that leads to success.

Cisco and iSchool Initiative have partnered to host this regional leadership event. This event is focused on assisting districts to move to a successful 1:1 or BYOD technology program. This program is designed for principals, superintendents, IT staff, instructional faculty, CTO’s, and anyone else interested in maximizing your organization’s technology potential.

Keynote - Becoming a Lifelong Learner

The tools and resources our students have at their disposal has created a need for a new set of skills. In today’s society, it's imperative for our students to become passionate lifelong learners who have the ability to problem solve and manage an unknown future. Take a journey with Travis Allen to see what it takes to be a lifelong learner, and explore the power of student voice.

Overcoming the Top 10 Barriers to Technology Adoption

There have been many consistent challenges that schools face as they move towards a 1:1 or BYOD environment. It takes more than just putting tablets in the classroom to create a successful learning environment. You have to build the right infrastructure, create a solid vision, and most importantly, create the right culture. In this session, we will discuss best practices and how to overcome some of the biggest barriers in your mobile deployment.

Escape the Bus

You will have to work as a team in order to go through each station and solve the problem to discover the secrets of lifelong learning. In the process of finding clues, you will learn about new technology to use in the classroom, the importance of student voice, and the history of iSchool Initiative! Most of all, you will have fun!
